Day Centre facilities

Our self-contained Day Centre, annexed to our residential home in Frinton, offers the following services:
• Daily luncheon club
• Weekly activities group for the visually impaired
• Monthly social club for the blind
• Available for clubs to book for lunch and/or tea.

Advice and information is only a phone call away. Our staff have a wealth of experience in dealing with the problems facing the visually impaired.

Resource centres

Our network of Resource Centres provides information and advice and has a wide range of visual aids for demonstration. They are operated by staff and volunteers, many of whom have sight problems themselves. For details of venues and opening times please follow this link.

Hospital Eye Clinics Support Groups

Run entirely by volunteers, these groups provide an important service to those attending hospital eye clinics. At a time of great stress our volunteers are able to offer important advice and support and a listening ear whenever necessary.

Home Visiting Scheme

Our Home Visiting Service, launched in 2008, covers the Chelmsford, Tendring, Colchester and Maldon areas. This scheme is run in association with Adult Social Care.

Home visiting in other areas of Essex is covered by Support4Sight and PAVIS.

Newsletter

Our bi-monthly newsletter ‘Spotlight’ contains articles and information of interest to the visually impaired. It is free of charge and available in large print or on tape. Please call our Advice Line if you would like to be added to our mailing list.
